We do not collect anything about you.
This is the whole policy, and it is short because there is very little to say. QuranRecords and the Quran Records app are built so that there is nothing to collect, nothing to sell, and nothing to leak.

The app has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking. It cannot take your money, because there is no way to give it any. Your location is read on your phone to work out prayer times and the direction of the Kaaba, and it never leaves your phone.
Your location
The Quran Records app asks for your location so that it can calculate prayer times and the bearing to the Kaaba.
That calculation happens entirely on your device. Your location is not transmitted to us, not stored on any server, not shared with any third party, and not sold to anyone. There is no server component to the app at all.
If you decline the location permission, the app still works. You can enter a latitude and longitude by hand instead.
What is stored on your device
Your settings, bookmarks, reading position, and reading plan are saved locally on your phone. They are not backed up to us and we cannot see them. Deleting the app deletes them.
Notifications
Prayer notifications are scheduled locally by your phone. There is no push server. We do not know when, or whether, your phone shows you a notification.
No analytics, no tracking, no ads
- No analytics software of any kind.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifier. On Android the advertising ID permission is explicitly blocked.
- No third-party tracking libraries.
- No crash reporting that sends anything to us.
The App Store privacy declaration for Quran Records is Data Not Collected, and that is accurate rather than aspirational.
The mailing list
If you choose to join the mailing list, you give us your email address. That is the only information we collect. It is used only to send you occasional updates about QuranRecords, it is never sold or shared, and you can unsubscribe from any message.
Joining is optional. Nothing on this site, and nothing in the app, requires it.
If you write to us
If you send a message through the contact page, we keep your name, email address, and message so that we can reply to you. We do not use it for anything else.
This website
The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes standard server request logs on our behalf in order to serve pages and block abuse. We do not run analytics on this site and we do not set advertising cookies.
Money
There is no way to pay us. The app has no ads, no purchases, no subscriptions, and no donations. We have nothing to gain from your data, which is a large part of why we do not collect any.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect information at all.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
